2019 Yokayo Buteo Rockpile Cabernet Sauvignon
Happy Sunday! I am exhausted, I spent seven hours working in the yard today, trimming hedges and cleaning up all the scraps and now I need to relax with a nice dinner and glass of wine! Although I may find it a strain to lift a glass to my mouth, tonight I've opened a bottle that was an impulse add on to an order from Wines Till Sold Out. The 2019 Yokayo Buteo Rockpile Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (75%), Malbec (16%) and Petit Verdot (9%) from the Rockpile appellation in Sonoma. So, let's see if I can lift this glass and taste this wine!
The wine is an inky black at the center with deep garnet along the edges, just as you'd expect from a big California Cabernet. A gentle swirl of the glass reveals aromas of strawberry, plum and green cedar. The first sip is a rush of ripe fruit, cherry, strawberry and plum with undertones of earthy peat and cedar that transition to some notes of mocha and dark chocolate midpalate. The tannins are firm and vibrant, providing an ideal foundation for a long, smooth dry finish that lingers for a minute or more.
Overall, I would rate this wine a solid 8.5, as it's a very pleasant drinking Cabernet that punches above its weight class, as this wine was available for the bargain price of $17! This wine would pair well with a range of dishes, from crispy skin salmon to mushroom risotto, steak to grilled lamb chops. Tonight, I am enjoying this wine with a rare grilled T-bone steak, oven roasted shishito peppers with flaky salt and grilled corn on the cob. Cheers!

2021 Le Quart du Roi Côtes-du-Rhône
Happy Sunday! I confess I've sheltered in place today with the heat wave we've been having, 87 degrees and 78% humidity is not my cup of tea! So, I did some laundry and a few other indoor chores and now it's time for Sunday dinner and a nice bottle of wine. Tonight, I've opened a bottle of 2021 Le Quart du Roi Côtes-du-Rhône which I bought last year from Wines Till Sold Out. This wine is a classic Rhône blend of Syrah (50%), Grenache (30%), Cinsault (10%) and Carignan (10%). Let's see how this wine is tasting!
The wine is a beautiful deep ruby color in the glass, with nice clarity. The nose is chock full of ripe red fruit, cherry, plum and currant with hints of green pepper and dried herbs. The first sip is a fruit forward affaire, with almost jammy red fruit, cherry, currant and strawberry that eases into some spicy notes of white pepper and a bit of rosemary. Having tasted many French wines, I come to expect a bit of earthiness on the finish, but this wine is well balanced with firm tannings and a smooth dry finish.
Overall, I would rate this wine a solid 8.5, as it's a wonderfully drinking and food friendly wine that was a terrific value at just $12.49! This wine would be exceptionally well paired with unusual, hard-to-pair dishes, like Asian or Indian, which is a good thing, since tonight I am enjoying this wine with some chicken Tikka Masals with lots of veggies over basmati rice and a bit of naan to mop up the sauce. Cheers!

2020 Helix Cabernet Sauvignon XM
Happy Sunday! I made the critical error of pulling weeds and then mowing in the current heatwave, and now that I've been indoors for 4 hours I think I may have finally recovered from the heat! In any case, it's time for a nice dinner and a nice bottle of wine. Tonight, I've opened a bottle of 2020 Helix Cabernet Sauvignon XM, which is one of the latest trends pioneered by Chuck Reininger in allowing wine to age in barrel for an extended period of time, hence the XM for extended maturation. This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (89%), Tempranillo (7%) and Malbec (4%) from the Phinny Hill, StoneTree, and Stone Valley Vineyards in the Columbia Valley AVA of Washington. Let's see if this wine was worth the wait!
The wine is a deep ruby color in the glass, with nice clarity, but a bit lighter than your typical Cabernet. The nose presents aromas of leather, oak amid hints of black pepper, umami and black olive. The first sip is a rush of ripe cherry, blueberry and currant that transitions easily to notes of charred meat, tobacco and dried herbs midpalate. The tannins are smartly structured, providing a velvety, smooth dry finish that lingers until your next sip.
Overall, I would rate this wine a solid 8.5, as it's an interesting departure from your typical big, bold Cabernet. This wine would pair well with summer dishes, from grilled burgers and brats to steaks and barbecued ribs. Tonight, I am enjoying this wine with an eclectic Sunday dinner of a grilled porterhouse with garlic scapes, steamed purple broccoli and risotto alla milanese. Cheers!

2021 Reininger Sangiovese Grosso
Happy Sunday! I think I had a productive day, mainly because I feel like I'm about to collapse on the couch! I went to church, then rehearsal this afternoon, then I pulled two gallon buckets of dandelions (I think it's getting better since it's one less bucket than last weekend!) and then I mowed for the first time this year before starting dinner. Which brings me to the wine for this evening, the 2021 Reininger Sangiovese Grosso from the Seven Hills Vineyard in the Walla Walla AVA of Washington. Let's see how this wine is tasting and whether I made the right choice for my Sunday dinner!
The wine is a deep ruby color in the glass with great clarity, just what you'd like to see in a Sangiovese Grosso. The nose presents enticing aromas of candied cherry, strawberry with some hints of lilac. The first sip is a blast of ripe red fruit, cherry, strawberry and currant, but with none of the sweetness the nose was projecting. Midpalate, you have some notes of pipe tobacco and white pepper spice, before a reprise of warm berry cobbler. The tannins are silky smooth, providing a perfect base for the long, dry finish.
Overall, I would rate this wine a solid 9, as it's just a classic tasting Italian varietal that pays homage to the European heritage. This wine would pair well with a variety of dishes, but it really needs to be paired with the food of Italy, from hearty Florentine steak, to classic pasta, from baked lasagna, stuffed shells to a hearty Bolognese. Tonight, I am enjoying this wine with a long-time favorite, bucatini with mussels fra diavalo, topped with fresh basil and shaved parmesan. Cheers!

2022 Woodward Canyon Grenache Mourvèdre Syrah Malbec Red Wine
Happy Easter! Although the weather forecast was for rain, it's been an absolutely beautiful sunny day in the low 60s, perfect for relaxing and finishing the last bit of yard work for the weekend. And of course there is Easter dinner to look forward to, and tonight is a good one, ideal for a new blend from Woodward Canyon that arrived a week or two ago. This is what I affectionately call a GSMM blend with the addition of Malbec. This wine is a blend of Grenache (41%), Mourvèdre (29%), Syrah (24%) and Malbec (6%) from the Woodward Canyon Estate Vineyard in the Walla Walla AVA of Washington. Let's see how this wine is tasting!
The wine is a deep ruby color in the glass, just as you'd expect from this blend. The nose presents rustic aromas of green grass, earthy peat and undertones of ripe blueberry, cherry and currant. The first sip is a rush of ripe black fruit, cherry, blackberry and currant that wash across you palate with just the right amount of sweetness before transitioning to some notes of forest floor and black pepper spice midpalate. The tannins are youthful but well behaved, providing for a wonderful smooth dry finish.
Overall, I would rate this wine a solid 9, as it's a step up from the standard GSM blend, as the Malbec really gives this wine some nice backbone. This wine would pair well with a range of hearty dishes, from steaks and chops to pappardelle Bolognese, lamb to ratatouille. Tonight, I am going the classic lamb route, but rather than the standard rack of lamb, I found a lamb loin roast at my local market, so a boneless rack of lamb! I served this herb crusted with mashed potatoes, oven roasted Brussels sprouts and a red wine reduction. Cheers!

2020 Château Haut-Therón Malbec Cahors
Happy Saturday! I started the day rather mellow, heading to the farmers market and then home to do yard work and that's where the trouble started! I finished raking all the small sticks from winter and then began my annual war with the dandelions, bending over and digging up three gallon buckets of them, I'm sure I will feel it tomorrow! In any case, it's time for a nice dinner and bottle of wine. Tonight, I've opened a bottle of 2020 Château Haut-Therón Malbec Cahors that I picked up in a $150 case sale from Wines Till Sold Out. So, let's see how this wine is tasting!
I'll admit, I'm a fan of Argentine Malbec, but I am approaching this French version with an open mind. The wine is a deep ruby color in the glass, just as you would expect from a nice Malbec. The nose presents aromas of leather, smoky charred oak, spicy pepper and bright red berries. The first sip is a rather surprising rush of red fruit, cherry, currant and raspberry that transition easily to notes of mint and peppery spice midpalate. The tannins are very mellow, providing for a classic French smooth dry finish, that will have you forgetting that you are drinking wine at all.
Overall, I would rate this wine a solid 8.5, as it's a very classic Malbec, but not as bold as it's long, lost cousins from Mendoza. This wine would pair well with a variety of hard cheeses, smoked meat or a classic steak. Tonight, I am enjoying this wine with a rare grilled bone-in ribeye, mashed sweet potatoes and oven roasted broccoli rabe. Cheers!

2020 Doubleback Cabernet Sauvignon
Happy Sunday! It was a rather relaxing but productive day for me, doing some work, chores and getting to the gym, so I figure I deserve to open a really good bottle of wine, so tonight I've opened a bottle of 2020 Doubleback Cabernet Sauvignon! This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (89%), Merlot (6%), Malbec (3%) and Petit Verdot (2%) sourced from the McQueen, LeFore, Bob Healy, Figgins, Flying B, Loess Vineyards in the Walla Walla AVA of Washington. I've reviewed this wine since the 2011 Vintage (you can see the posts here), so let's see how this vintage is shaping up!
The wine is a deep inky black at the center, with bright garnet along the edges, just what you'd like to see in a high-end Cabernet. The nose exudes notes of leather, subtle floral notes under black fruit that hearken back to an eighteenth century library. The first sip is a subdued combination of black raspberry, cherry and plum amid toasted oak, that transitions to notes of vanilla and baking spice. This wine has such a velvety mouthfeel it's ridiculous, as the rich tannins provide for a voluptuous dry finish that will have you reaching for another sip.
Overall, I would rate this wine a solid 9.5, as it's just a spectacular Cabernet from a somewhat challenging vintage. This wine would pair well with a range of dishes, from rack of lamb to braised short ribs, wild mushroom risotto to thick steaks. Tonight, I am enjoying this wine with my Sunday dinner of pan seared New York strip, steamed asparagus with hollandaise and a baked potato with sour cream and chives. Cheers!

2023 Eberle CĂ´tes du RĂ´bles
Well, what do you know, three days of posting in a row! I thought it was a good idea to open another one of my mistakenly free bottles of wine, this time it's the 2023 Eberle Côtes du Rôbles. This wine is a blend of Grenache (58%), Mourvèdre (34%) and Syrah (8%) all harvested from Paso Robles, California. So, let's see how this wine is tasting!
The wine is a deep ruby color in the glass, with a seemingly heavier body than you might expect from a GSM blend. A gentle swirl of the glass reveals enticing aromas of strawberry, rose petals and green grass that will have you fully engaged. The first sip is an unexpected rush of sweet ripe fruit, cherry, strawberry and a hint of raspberry that easily transition to some earthy notes of tar and espresso midpalate. The tannins are somewhat subdued, providing for a pleasant dry finish, with a bit of acidity at the end.
Overall, I would rate this wine a solid 8, as it's a pleasant and easy drinking RhĂ´ne-style blend that would pair well with a variety of dishes, from fish to tacos, barbecue to grilled lamb chops. Tonight, I am enjoying this wine with a pan seared salmon filet, steamed rice and sugar snap peas, as I sip this wine for the remainder of my Monday evening. Cheers!

2016 Aruma Malbec
Happy Sunday! it's been a heck of a week, but now I have some time for a nice bottle of wine with my Sunday dinner. Given my penchant for beef, tonight I've opened a bottle of 2016 Aruma Malbec that I purchased from Wine Till Sold Out. This wine is a 100% Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina, which is a classic region for this wine. So, let's see how this wine is shaping up!
The wine is a deep ruby in the glass, just as you'd expect from a nice Malbec. A gentle swirl of the glass reveals aromas of leather, white pepper, cassis and earthy basalt. Take a sip and you are awash in ripe cherry, blackberry and currant, that transitions easily to some ripe fruit notes, before easing into some dusty limestone midpalate. The tannins are well structured, providing for a long, smooth dry finish that will have you reaching for another sip.
Overall. I would rate this wine a solid 8.5, as it's a classic steak friendly wine a a value price (I think I bought this one for under $20!). This wine would pair well with almost any beef dish, as well as braised lamb, chili or steak tacos. Tonight, I am enjoying this wine with a rare grilled T-bone steak, oven roasted candy stripe beets and broccolini. Cheers!

2020 Seven Hills Founding Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Happy Sunday! Yesterday was the day of my annual Christmas Party, and we had a great crowd which means there were not a lot of leftovers! I use this party as an opportunity to try some new dishes for the guests, and this year we had three new ones that were all well received. Today, after spending a good portion of the afternoon cleaning up, it's now time to open a bottle of wine and enjoy a good dinner. Since this is the last Sunday of the month, it's also Dinner in the Diner Sunday, the last one of this yearlong effort, but more on that later. For the wine, tonight I've opened a bottle of 2020 Seven Hills Founding Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the original vineyard planted by Seven Hills founder Casey McClellan and his father back in the early 1980s. The other vintages I've enjoyed (including the 2017 and 2019) were well worth it, so let's see how the 2020 is faring!
The wine has the classic look of a big Cabernet, inky black at the center and bright ruby along the edges. The nose presents aromas of leather, blackberry, cherry and dark chocolate, inviting you to take a sip. That first sip is a wild ride of flavors as you experience and eruption of sweet cherry up front, that eases into some earthy notes of toasted oak and dusty limestone, before transitioning to some espresso and dark chocolate notes midpalate. The tannins are youthful, but well behaved, providing for the wonderfully smooth dry finish that lingers for a minute or more.
Overall, I would rate this wine a solid 9, as it's just a classic example of the age worthy potential of Walla Walla Cabernets. This wine would pair well with a range of hearty dishes, from rack of lamb and braised short ribs, London broil to hearty pasta dishes. Tonight, I am enjoying this wine with a main course derived from the dining cars of the Louisville & Nashville Railroad, fried country ham with red gravy, along with some mashed sweet potatoes and green bean casserole. Cheers!

2022 DaMa Wines GSM
Happy Monday! Back-to-back posts, though this one is a bit later than usual, only because I had a long day of work. At any rate, it's time for wine, and tonight I've opened a bottle from the recent wine club shipment from DaMa Wines, the 2022 GSM. This wine is a blend of Grenache (52%), Syrah (30%) and Mourvèdre (18%) from the Yakima Valley AVA of Washington. So, let's see how this one is tasting!
The wine is a somewhat lighter body, with bright ruby color, just as you'd expect from a good GSM blend. The nose presents aromas of lilac, strawberry and a bit of rustic earth. Take a sip and you're greeted by a rush of vibrant red fruit, cherry, plum, strawberry and currant that completely envelop your palate before transitioning to some lively notes of white pepper spice midpalate. The tannins are well integrated, providing an ideal foundation for the long, smooth dry finish.
I would rate this wine a solid 8.5, as it's a fine example of the quality GSM blends emanating from Washington, and it's just a pleasant wine to drink. This wine would pair well with a variety of holiday dishes, including a very popular bird that's likely on many of your menus this coming Thursday! Tonight, I am enjoying this wine with a sesame crusted Ahi tuna steak, with steamed rice and sugar snap peas. Cheers!

2022 Pepper Bridge Walla Walla Valley Merlot
Happy Saturday! I am exhausted. I decided to clear leaves today, which meant getting up on the roof to blow them off and clear the gutters, then blowing the front yard, then blowing from the ground cover in the back yard so I could then get them all up with the leaf vacuum, so now I really need a nice dinner and a glass of wine before I collapse! Tonight, I've opened a bottle of a wine club selection that arrived yesterday, the 2022 Pepper Bridge Walla Walla Valley Merlot. So, let's see how this wine is shaping up!
The wine is a deep ruby color in the glass, with nice body and clarity, just as you'd expect from a nice Merlot. A gentle swirl reveals aromas of blackberry, cherry, lavender and kirsch, that beckon you to take a sip. That first sip is a dynamic layering of flavors from an initial rush of ripe berry, which transitions to some notes of vanilla, caramel and tawny port before leading into some peppery spice notes near the finish. The tannins are well structured to provide nice body for the long, smooth dry finish that seems to linger for a minute or more.
Overall, I would rate this wine a solid 9, as it's a perennial favorite for this underappreciated varietal. This wine would pair well with a variety of fall dishes, from Yankee pot roast to braised short ribs, lamb chops to grilled steak. Tonight, I am enjoying this wine with a rare, pan seared grass fed New York strip, bacon maple roasted Brussels sprouts and a big baked potato. Cheer!

2021 DaMa Walla Walla Valley Merlot
Happy Sunday! It's been a gorgeous day here, sunny and 75 degrees. I did a bunch of yard work, including digging up a couple buckets of dandelions, trimming some branches from a spruce tree, and transplanting a maple tree, then I went for a bike ride and then relaxed on the porch before dinner. I am ready for a mild taste of summer with my dinner tonight, but first I'm opening a nice bottle of wine from the recent wine club shipment from DaMa Wines, the 2021 Walla Walla Valley Merlot from the First Light Vineyard. I am a big fan of Merlot, so let's see what Mary and the crew have done with this release!
The wine is a lovely ruby color in the glass, just as you'd expect from a nice Merlot. A gentle swirl reveals aromas of sweet cherry, blackberry and vanilla bean, creating a lovely, rich aroma that beckons you to take a sip. The first tastes is a wonderful rush of ripe fruit, blackberry, cherry and cassis, that transition to some lovely dried herbs midpalate. The tannins are supple and somewhat subdued, providing for a velvety smooth finish with lingering fruit.
Overall, I would rate this wine a solid 9, as it's just a pleasant drinking Merlot that would pair nicely with a broad range of dishes, but would also be a fine wine to sip on the porch with friends on a summer evening. Tonight, I am enjoying this wine with a rare grilled porterhouse, marinated with some Japanese barbecue sauce and topped with some sunflower sprouts, grilled leeks, grilled corn on the cob and some maple bacon Brussels sprouts. Cheers!

2021 Seven Hills McClellan Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Happy Saturday! I am having an early dinner tonight so I can watch "The Ten Commandments" on television tonight, so I need to cook by 7:00 pm! Given my planned dinner, I thought it appropriate to open a big red wine tonight, so I've done just that with a 2021 Seven Hills McClellan Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is a consistently solid Cabernet, though my second favorite from Seven Hills as the Summit View Cabernet has a special place in my heart. In any case, let's see what this latest vintage has to offer!
The wine is a deep ruby color in the glass, with a deep indigo at the center, just as you'd expect from a well-crafted Cabernet. A gentle swirl reveals aromas of earthy leather and pipe tobacco, ripe blackberry and cherry, with just a faint undertone of mint. The first sip is a rush of tart cherry that really takes you by surprise as the rest of the ripe black fruit struggles to get in gear. Midpalate, you enjoy some mild caramel and vanilla bean, that plays well with some white pepper spice toward the finish. The tannins are nicely structured, making for a velvety dry finish that just lingers for a minute or more.
Overall, I would rate this wine a solid 9, as it's a classic example of the wonderful Cabernet coming out of the Walla Walla Valley of Washington. This wine would pair well with a variety of hearty dishes, from steaks and lamb, to rich barbecue or hearty pasta. Tonight, I am enjoying this wine with a rare, pan-seared New York Strip topped with blistered cherry tomatoes, oven roasted yellow and purple potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts. Cheers!

2020 Willamette Valley Vineyards Estate Pinot Noir
Happy Saturday! I had so much planned for today, but as I look back, I pretty much accomplished nothing on my list of chores. That's all right though, weekends are meant for relaxing and I am feeling more relaxed this evening, so I'll call that a win! Tonight, I've opened a bottle of 2020 Willamette Valley Vineyards Estate Pinot Noir, which I believe will be a great wine to pair with tonight's dinner and as a shareholder, I'm always happy to support my investments! So, let's see how this wine is tasting!
The wine is a beautiful pale ruby color in the glass, with nice clarity, just as you'd expect from a nice Pinot Noir. A swirl of the glass reveals aromas of strawberry, earthy peat, basalt and hints of peppery spice. Take a sip and your palate is awash in ripe red fruit, cherry, strawberry and currant that easily transition to some earthy notes of tar and basalt, with a good bit of peppery spice midpalate. The tannins are subdued, but still present a nice backbone for the smooth dry finish.
Overall, I would rate this wine a solid 9, as it's just a really pleasant example of a quality Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, with all the character and funk you'd expect. This wine would pair well with a variety of dishes, from fresh salmon to Dungeness crab, hearty lamb shank to an earthy risotto. Speaking of which, tonight I am pairing this wine with a new dish I've been anxious to try making, a hearty roasted beet risotto, topped with shaved parmesan and amaranth microgreens. Cheers!

2019 Willamette Valley Vineyards Whole Cluster Pinot Noir
Happy Sunday! Well, tonight I've brought out a forgotten bottle of wine, as apparently I've reviewed the 2018 vintage, the 2020 vintage and the 2021 vintage, but now I'm finally getting around to the 2019 Willamette Valley Vineyards Whole Cluster Pinot Noir! As a loyal shareholder, I am a big fan of Willamette Valley Vineyards' wines, and although the whole cluster Pinot Noir is ideal and approachable on release, tonight we'll find out how they perform five years on!
The wine is a delightful ruby color in the glass with nice clarity, just as you'd expect from the varietal. A gentle swirl of my Pinot glass reveals aromas of raspberry, bing cherry, green cedar and a hint of eucalyptus. Take a sip and your palate is awash in ripe red fruit, cherry, raspberry and currant with just a bit of tartness that eases into some earthy notes of dusty limestone midpalate. The tannins are well integrated, providing for a smooth, dry finish that lingers with a reprise of berry at the end.
Overall, I would rate this wine a solid 8.5, as it's a wonderful example of a solid Pinot Noir, that is approachable and ideal for pairing with a broad range of casual dinner fare. This wine would be great with barbecue, pizza or tacos, grilled seafood or pasta. Tonight, I am enjoying this wine with some miso glazed pan seared Coho salmon topped with microgreens, along with some farro and steamed broccolini. Cheers!

2020 Mark Ryan Manu Propria Ex Animo
Happy Saturday! Today was relatively relaxing, as I went to the annual train show in Middlebury today, to see a bunch of trains (I bought a couple books and some ephemera), then went to Costco and the supermarket and now I'm ready for dinner and a nice bottle of wine. Tonight, I've opened a bottle of 2020 Mark Ryan Manu Propria Ex Animo, which is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon (clone 191 and 337) sourced from a one-acre block of the Red Willow Vineyard in the Yakima Valley AVA of Washington. So, let's see how this wine is tasting.
The wine is a deep inky black at the center with bright garnet along the edges, just as you'd expect from a solid Cabernet. A gentle swirl of the glass reveals aromas of blackberry, raspberry, black cherry with undertones of green cedar and earthy peat. The first sip is a rush of ripe cherry, plum and currant that transition easily to some notes of baking spice and vanilla bean midpalate. The tannins are well structured but definitely take the supporting role for the lingering dry finish.
Overall, I would rate this wine a solid 9, as it's just a solid example of the high quality of Cabernet that coming from Washington state today. This wine would pair well with a wide range of hearty dishes, from pasta, beef stew or prime rib, to steaks, lamb or braised short ribs. Tonight, I am enjoying this wine with a ribeye grilled Pittsburgh rare, with oven roasted white asparagus and a big baked potato with sour cream and scallions. Cheers!

2019 Tenute del Neccio Super Tuscan
Happy Super Bowl Sunday! I admit, as a Bears fan I usually lose interest in football about week 3 of the season, so tonight I am just enjoying a nice quiet dinner and watching a movie. Yes, that may be lame, but so am I! So, what's on the menu tonight? I am having some nice comfort food that reminds me of my childhood, and for no particular reason, I opened up a bottle of 2019 Tenute del Neccio Super Tuscan that I recently bought from Wines Till Sold Out. Unlike many Super Tuscans that rely on blending Bordeaux varietals, this wine relies more on the traditional Tuscan varietals, Sangiovese, Malvasia Nera and Ciliegiolo. Let's see how this wine is tasting!
The wine is a lighter color in the glass, reflecting the heavier reliance on Sangiovese in the blend. A gentle swirl of the glass reveals aromas of cherry and plum, intermingled with earthy notes of tar and green cedar. The first sip a surprising rush of ripe red berries that at first exhibit a hint of sweetness before turning tart. The earthy mineral notes of dusty limestone come out midpalate before easing into a wonderfully smooth dry finish.
Overall, I would rate this wine a solid 8, as it's a pleasant drinking Tuscan wine and a good value under $13. This wine would pair with a variety of casual dishes (perhaps like you're enjoying at the big game!) from burgers and brats, to pizza and barbecued ribs. Tonight, I am enjoying this wine with some stuffed cabbage, topped with fire roasted tomatoes and melted mozzarella and provolone. Cheers!
